Our Unique Approach

The Mind & Mood Report prides itself on its unique methodology. It is based on the classic principles of non-directive research and has three essential features: affinity groups, natural habitat and spontaneous discussion.

All our reports are illustrated with and supported by extensive verbatim quotations from the group discussions allowing you to hear the way people express their attitudes, values and aspirations. As a result, you gain a close understanding of the issues that Australians identify as important to them and which affect their decision-making.

This year we will also be providing additional multi-methodology insights and directed discussion in our reports. Our key qualitative data will be supplemented by quantitative research from across the broader Ipsos business, complimentary qualitative methodologies and insights from desk research to provide a broader context where relevant.
