MediaCT employs a range of specialists in media and research to measure and manage insights

Our people are focused on developing new research methods to aid our clients in reaching the largest potential audience in the digital age.

Simon Wake, Managing Director

Simon has a very strong background in market research, audience measurement, marketing and publishing. Specifically he has worked at ANOP Research Services and Millward Brown in Australia and in the UK. Most recently he was the Marketing and Circulation Director at Fairfax Media’s Financial Review Group (FRG) and prior to that he was involved with the research, customer insights and data management for FRG. He now heads up the MediaCT team in Australia for Ipsos.
Throughout his career Simon specialised in market research, media research, digital marketing, brand strategy, communications research, business development, PR and communications strategy and planning. He has a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Government and a Masters of International Studies, both from the University of Sydney.

Kirsten Riolo, Executive Director

Kirsten is the Executive Director of Ipsos MediaCT in Australia. She has more than 15 years of experience working in media measurement including stints for Roy Morgan Research, Fairfax Media, News Limited and Foxtel. Kirsten is a QPMR practitioner and a member of AMSRS, with qualitative and quantitative experience across brand, service and product tracking projects, product development, sales based trade research, media creative evaluation (print, radio and television) as well as audience measurement for print, online, Pay TV, radio and mobile devices.
Kirsten holds a Bachelor’s degree from The Australian National University and a Masters of Management from the Macquarie Graduate School of Management in Sydney.
Kirsten has experience working on clients such as The Newspaper Works, The Readership Works, Fairfax Media, Google and Disney.

Adam Hodgson, Research and Operations Director

Adam is responsible for leading the technical development of the emma audience insights survey and the roll out of our innovation pipeline. He joins Ipsos MediaCT with more than 30 years’ experience in media research in Australia and overseas. For the past 15 years he has worked in the media agency industry as Asia region head of research and econometrics for Initiative, Mediacom and more recently Aegis, based in Australia and also in South East Asia. Adam launched his research career with AGB where he worked in the UK, Malaysia and Australia, establishing the television PeopleMeter service and the AGB Panorama service in Australia.

Mario Paic, Technical Director

Mario has over 10 years’ experience working on market and audience measurement for Ipsos in the South-East Europe region where we are the leading provider of market and media measurement services.
His work has focused on developing and running large scale, high specification syndicated media research projects across the region that involved establishing several print, web and radio currencies, advertising expenditure monitoring projects and single-source product surveys.
Mario joined Ipsos MediaCT team in Australia in 2012 to work on emma, a new cross-media audience metric for the Australian market.
His expertise is in data analysis, software development, database integration and survey design and implementation. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Zagreb, Croatia.

Jane Nicholls, Commercial Director

Jane leads the commercialisation and go-to-market strategy for emma (Enhanced Media Metrics Australia). She has more than 20 years experience in advertising, marketing and publishing and was most recently CEO and Head of Sales and Marketing for Horizon Media. Jane has also held senior leadership positions with Australia’s largest newspaper and magazine publishers, including Group Director of Advertising at NewsLifeMedia; Group Director – Display Advertising at Fairfax Media; Director of Advertising in Australia and Europe for Readers Digest; Advertising Director at The Australian and Marketing Manager for the Daily and Sunday Telegraph.

Brian Hogan, Senior Commercial Manager

Brian has more than 20 years of business development experience in the advertising, marketing and media industry. He has led business development for broadcast media owners and been a founder, strategist and client leader in advertising agencies. Most recently Brian led the industry marketing body for Regional FTA TV where he was responsible for growing revenue from Australia’s top 200 national advertisers. He has a deep understanding of the strategic application of consumer and media research in both media agency and marketing environments. Brian has a BA in Design and Visual Communications from NCAD, Dublin and a MSc Marketing from Dublin Institute of Technology.

Linden DawsonCommercial Manager

With more than 15 years of experience working in the media industry, Linden is fascinated by future trends in media and consumer behaviour. She has an advertising agency background in consumer campaign planning and execution, working at full service creative agency Leo Burnett’s and media buying agency Maxus in Melbourne. She also brings with her a deep understanding of the world of publishing, through various roles at News Corp in advertising sales, sales management and trade marketing & insights, across both digital and print platforms. As a Commercial Manager for the MediaCT division of IPSOS, Linden’s role is to deliver the next generation of audience insights with emma, primarily to Melbourne-based publishers, agencies and advertisers

Iva Gotovac, Marketing Director

Iva is a comprehensive communications professional with ten years’ experience in managing large communication campaigns and a track record of delivering exceptional results and engaging stakeholders effectively. She has proven experience in strategic planning and end to end execution of communication strategies, as well as budget and team management. Fluent in four languages, Iva is an excellent communicator and presenter. Her career spans across Europe, where she focused on large government communications projects, and Australia, where she coordinated the launch of the new audience measurement system emma (Enhanced Media Metrics Australia), and then went on to manage all marcomms activities to position emma firmly in the always busy space of the media and advertising industry.

Ojdana Ojdanic, Training and Support Manager

Ojdana has over 16 years’ IT Training and Consulting experience working in the electricity generation, supply, manufacturing, government, telecommunications, retail and gaming industries. Ojdana has developed and executed business solutions, change, training and support strategies, analysed business functions, produced documentation, eLearning and delivered training for individual, team and organisation solutions.
Her previous work included Global HRMS and LMS implementations, Global Windows 7 and Office 2010 SOE upgrades, IT Service Desk express and ITIL 3 Foundation processes, Gaming Analysis; SOE XP upgrade implementations, Technical and Maintenance staff training for Energy Australia’s ERP implementation (SAP Plant Maintenance, Materials Management and HR modules), Mincom Ellipse Plant Maintenance and Work Management Module Training; MS Office Application Training for Central Coast Radio Staff and Excel Reporting Solutions for Masterfoods Marketing Teams.
Ojdana held the IT Training and Organisational Change Manager position at Aristocrat for 3.5 years before she joined Ipsos May 2013.

Nicole Menezes, Account Director

Nicole has 8 years of diverse consumer research experience, with a digital and technology focus. Some of her key clients have included (past and present) Warner Home Video, Google, YouTube, PayPal, Disney Channel and Ikon.
Nicole currently spearheads the ongoing Digital (video downloads) and Gaming Trackers for Warner Home Video, leads the Disney Channel community panel, and manages the Australian Business Elite Survey which tracks the readership habits and attitudes of Australia’s most senior and influential executives.
Other highlights include conducting a Mobile and Broadband decision making study for Google, an SME study for Google Ad Words, user profiling study for YouTube, an online shopping behavioural quantitative and qualitative study for PayPal, as well as a brand strategy study for HSBC.
Nicole holds a Bachelor of Business Degree in Marketing from the University of Technology Sydney.
